The Media and Industry Relations Committee (MIRC) aims at promoting the intellectual capital of TAPMI to the outside world.  It aims to do this by building strong ties with the media and the industry.  It also facilitates interaction between the industry, academia and students to complement and augment classroom learning, by organizing guest lectures, seminars and panel discussions with India’s corporate elite.

Some of the activities that MIRC organized in 2009 were:

• Commander (Retd.) Harinder Sikka, Director, Corporate Affairs, Nicholas Piramal interacted with the students on his experiences in the Navy and success in corporate life.

• Mr. Anirban Ganguly, Head, SME Risk, Tata Capital shared his views on Corporate Banking in the current economic scenario.

• A panel discussion on e-Governance, driven by Prof. Subhash Bhatnagar, IIM Ahemdabad, Mr.P.V. Sreenath, Vice President and Country Leader – Government Solutions, IBM India Limited and Mr. Navin Agrawal, Director, KPMG.

• A student interaction session with Mr Arun Arumgham, Head of OEM Division, Intel and Mr. Joe Abraham, Entrepreneur (Both are 1997 Batch TAPMI Alumni)

• Media coverage of all important events held at TAPMI and issue of press releases.
