Biography

  • Prof. Durga Prasad M is a professor of Accounting and Finance. He has an overall experience of 27 years in teaching and administration. He obtained his doctorate in the area of Corporate Finance. His research interests are Corporate Finance, Business Valuation,  and Corporate Governance. He conducts training programs for executives and academicians.

    His research focus is on corporate finance. He is an active case publisher in top case clearing houses such as IVEY and Emerald. He received the Jonathan Welch Best Case in Finance award at the North American Case Research Association (NACRA) conference 2014 in Austin, USA. Jonathan Welch Award is a prestigious award given to an outstanding case in accounting, finance, or economics. His case titled “Wockhardt Limited: Will it Rise from the Ashes?” has been ranked among the top 10 cases in the ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition 2016. His cases were published in IVEY, The Case Journal, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and Emerald Emerging Market Case Studies (EEMCS). All his published cases are based on live issues such as Green Bonds, Corporate Restructuring, Corporate Governance, Takeovers, and Entrepreneur’s Dilemmas to start a new venture.

    One of his key focus areas is institution-building. He handled various academic administrative roles. He served as Director in charge, Chairperson – Quality Cell, and Chairperson – Alumni Relations, Associate Dean (Administration). Currently holds the position of Dean – Administration.

Teaching

  • Teaching courses in the domain of finance, such as Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, Financial Derivatives, and Business Valuation.

Research

  • Active case publisher in top case clearing houses such as IVEY, Emerald, Case Research Journal (CRJ), Emerald Emerging Market Case Studies (EEMCS).  His research focus is on Corporate Finance, Sustainable Finance, Corporate Restructuring, Corporate Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions.
