Quiz on the Beach (QoTB) is back for its monumental 20th edition, and it’s set to be more exhilarating than ever! As Asia’s largest business quiz competition, conducted by T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal, QoTB has been a beacon of brilliance for two decades. Last year, over 2500+ teams from 450+ colleges, schools, and top corporates competed for fame, glory, and substantial rewards. Now, it’s your chance to shine!

This landmark edition, open to undergraduates, postgraduates, and corporates, is going to raise the bar even higher. The journey kicks off with the high-energy Unstop round, followed by fierce City Qualifiers across 8 iconic clusters: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Manipal, and an Online round. The road to victory leads to the Grand Finale, where the awe-inspiring sea backdrop and legendary quizmaster Mr. Giri “Pickbrain” Balasubramanium will challenge India’s sharpest minds in the ultimate battle of wits.

An avid quizzer and a noted quizmaster, ‘Pickbrain’ Giri Balasubramaniam, was selected to host the prestigious Tata Crucible – The Business Quiz, India’s biggest corporate quiz in 2004. Having presented close to 1700 shows across 61 destinations of India, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Middle East, UK, and USA, Giri is a familiar face on television where he hosts quiz shows regularly.
Giri began his career as a media sales executive in 1992, in 2000, he quit a division of Walt Disney India Pvt. Limited to pursue his passion as a profession. He is also the ‘brain’ behind the Global Awareness Program (GAP), one of India’s first structured knowledge enhancement programs for school children.

Quiz Format

Event will be conducted in 3 rounds.

Level 1: Unstop Round

Online round open for participants across the country via Unstop platform.
The students will be asked to select one of the 8 clusters available for selection.
Top 8 teams in each cluster will be selected for the city qualifiers round.

Level 2: City Qualifiers

Offline quiz competition conducted by members of the quiz committee of TAPMI, Manipal.
Winner from each cluster will move to the final round of the event.
The clusters of the event include Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Manipal, Mumbai and Online.

Level 3: Grand Finale

General Guidelines

TAPMI QoTB^TMis a General Quiz open to full-time students from all disciplines.
Institutes that are affiliated with universities or are universities themselves as well as corporate professionals are eligible to apply for QoTB^TM

Teams from courses run by professional associations such as ICAI, ICSI, etc can register under QoTB^TM irrespective of age. This list is merely indicative and NOT exhaustive.
Each team should consist of only two participants.
Participants in a team are not required to be affiliated with the same institute or organization.
A participant can be part of one team only.
Individual participants are NOTallowed to take part in the competition.
An institute can send any number of teams to register for the quiz.
Team composition cannot be changed after the qualifying rounds are conducted.
There is NO ENTRY FEE.
Once registered, organizers have the right to communicate with the teams, from time to time, any information regarding the quiz.
The organizers retain the right to make any changes to the event, its format, date, rules, and any matter related to this event, at any time before or during the event.
The decision of the organizers and Quiz Master will be final and binding on all issues related to QoTB and no correspondence in this regard would be entertained.

City Qualifier

The usage of cell phones, laptops, tablets, or any electronic devices during the quiz is strictly prohibited. Any individual or team found using the same would be disqualified.
All participants are required to carry a valid college/institution photo ID to the venue without which participation will NOT be allowed.
By entering the event venue and/or participating in the quiz, the attendees permit themselves to be photographed/video-graphed/recorded by electronic and print mediums for telecast/publication and other display usage of the organizers.
Eatables are not allowed inside the venues where the city qualifiers are being conducted.
