Dr. Amar Prakash (a.k.a P.C. Amarnath) – an Alumnus of TAPMI (class of 1987) has distinguished himself with significant achievements in Industry and Academia.

Dr. Amar specializes in Strategy Consulting, Enterprise Architecture, Solutions Architecture design and deployment, Business Development, Client Engagement, Project Management, Practice Development, Subject Matter Expert in Supply Chain Management (SCM), Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)

Currently, Dr. Amar is President and CEO at Techaris Consulting. Prior to this role, he was Vice President (Business Development) at L&T Infotech. He worked as Managing Director at Proxicom and Director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Dr. Amar had distinguished academic career as a Professor and Business Management faculty at several universities in the US. He is also a graduate and alumni of the Stanford Business School having graduated from the Stanford Execution Program in 1999. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Business Management from the University of Memphis in 1996 in a record 3 years. His doctoral dissertation on ‘Interorganizational Linkages’ won the 1996 International Best Doctoral Dissertation award and he was the FIRST Indian to win this prestigious award in 50 years. After serving as Assistant Professor at the College of Business Administration at Texas Tech University for 2 years, he moved back into consulting when he joined PriceWaterhouse, a leading Big 5 consulting firm as its Principal on the west coast. Through his consulting years, he maintained a strong connection with US academia by teaching at Stanford University and University of Phoenix.

Dr. Amar has published more than 45 papers in leading International and National academic journals and trade publications. In addition, he Chaired several Industry panels at International and National conferences. He was invited to be a Key Note speaker for an International Transportation conference in Canada in 2001.

Won the 1996 International Doctoral Dissertation award for Best Doctoral Dissertation in Management Information Systems (MIS).

Delivered the Key Note address at the North American Logistics Conference in Vancouver, Canada in 2000.

Participated as a key Panel Member in many International and National Conferences in the areas of Supply Chain Management, eBusiness Strategy and Practice, Strategic Consulting, and Business Innovation.

Nominated in Who’s Who in Business (1999) for contribution to Business.

He is a well-known thought leader in Business and IT strategy, Business Process Alignment, Systems Integration, Supply Chain Management, and ERP project implementation.

An IT Solutions Professional with over 20 years of experience in developing proven business strategies, establishing Enterprise Architectures, and designing, deploying, and managing complex IT-enabled Business Solutions for Fortune 100 companies worldwide.

He developed and managed $80MM ERP and Solutions Practice at PriceWaterhouseCoopers?and founded and managed a $35MM global Supply Chain Innovation (SCI) practice at Proxicom – a leading eBusiness Solutions Consulting firm.

He has proven development, delivery, and team building experience in the areas of Supply Chain Management (SCM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Strategic Account Management (SAM) solutions.

Currently, Dr. Amar runs a Management Consulting firm providing strategy, process, and IT solutions to various customers in the public and private sector.
