The world faced a plethora of challenges in the year 2022, such as the challenges and impact of Covid-19, climate-related anomalies, food and energy crisis due to the Russia-Ukraine war, and the ever-rising inflation. Despite taking all the hits, India has emerged as the fastest-growing economy in the world, showcasing a 6.4% growth in gross development product (GDP) in FY2022-23. For the next financial year (2023-24), the Asian Development Bank has projected a rise of 6.7% in India’s GDP, driven by private consumption, domestic production, international trade, government initiatives including ‘Make in India’ and significant foreign direct investments across the industrial landscape.
