Mrityunjay Mahopatra

Mrityunjay Mahopatra joined SBI in 1982 as a PO. He had several assignments in India, UK and USA. He set up new businesses like Leasing, Private Equity and Insurance for SBI.  He was a Deputy Managing director in SBI leading global strategy, Marketing, New Businesses, digital, analytics and IT initiatives. As CIO, he established the innovation, data analytics, enterprise architecture verticals which was instrumental in creating many path breaking products like YONO, Loan Life Management System, SBI Chatbot etc.

Later, he was the CEO of Syndicate Bank, leading the transformation and repositioning of one of the India’s oldest and largest banks.

A writer in leading newspapers and a known public speaker, he is considered a thought leader in the Indian BFSI sector. He has won several awards and accolades and has served in various RBI and Gove committees besides being member of corporate boards

Biography

  • Amit Kumar has over two decades of experience in marketing and advertising in leading food and non-food FMCG giants in diverse sectors. He has worked with organisations like Ogilvy, Lotte, 3M, Britannia, CavinKare and Mother Dairy and was part of the Chocopie launch in India. Mr Kumar’s interest and strength lie in Product Innovation, Brand and Product Management. He is also a guest faculty/visiting faculty at IMT-Ghaziabad, IIT-Delhi, GIM and Flame University. Currently working as the founder of online portal www.akshanova.com. Mr Kumar’s experience in diverse sectors and organisations helps brings out relevant cases and examples of key marketing practices to make our students’ industry ready.

Biography

  • Indumathi is an educationist with more than 17 years of experience in pioneering organisations such as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), Azim Premji University (APU) and Quest Alliance. She has contributed to teacher development, curriculum development, teaching, research, and advocacy in different capacities. Policy consultations were with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and SCERT, Sikkim Government in the revision of teacher education programs. She has worked with the Karnataka Knowledge Commission and consulted with NCERT and KSEEB during her stint at APU.  She started her journey in education as a nature education assistant at the Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History, Coimbatore, and worked as a science teacher at TVS Academy.

    Indumathi completed her PhD in sociology of education from Tata Institute of Social Sciences in 2019. She explored- Gender and learning of science and the intersections of class and family for her thesis. She has completed a Master’s in Elementary Education from TISS as well as a Master’s in Botany from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. She has published in international and national peer-reviewed journals, written research reports and magazine articles for teachers and teacher educators. She has been a recipient of an ESRC fellowship, the UK, and a DAAD scholarship, in Germany.
