Biography

  • Dr Hariharan T S (Hari) is a PhD from IIT Madras and Curtin University, currently an Assistant Professor in the Strategy and General Management Area at TAPMI, Bengaluru.  Hari works in (interested in) the research areas of systems thinking, ecosystem management, invasive species management, sharing economy, energy policy, climate policy, and sustainability.  Hari is a Mechanical Engineer from Anna University and an MBA graduate from IIT Madras with over 11 years of work experience in industry, research, and academia.  Hari started his career as a design engineer at Larsen and Toubro and McNeil Limited following his undergraduate studies.  He was responsible for designing and procuring materials for a few projects of national importance.  After his post-graduation from IIT Madras, Hari joined Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) as Planning Executive.  He was responsible for developing project and operational plans for BHEL Trichy’s boiler equipment manufacturing unit.  Hari has also been involved in performance improvement projects, such as Lean manufacturing implementation, during his tenure as a Senior planning executive.  Hari has three years of research experience at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) in ecosystem management projects, especially invasive species management.  Hari was also involved in consulting assignments in socio-environmental projects of the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment (ATREE).  Hari is a Climate Corps Fellow, a prestigious award given by Environmental Defense Fund (USA).  Hari, as a Fellow, provided consultations to Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Limited (MHRIL) in achieving their decarbonization plans.
