How to reach Manipal

Manipal is well connected by road, rail, and air. There are two major cities close to Manipal that serve as entry points – Udupi and Mangalore. Udupi is 6 km away from Manipal and Mangalore 65 km away.

By Air

The nearest airport is at Mangalore (also known as Mangaluru) which is 75-80 minutes’ drive by road. Pre-paid taxis/cabs are available from the airport (approximate cost INR 1600).

By Road

Manipal is well connected with the major cities in Karnataka, Kerala, and Goa. Buses run between Mangalore and Manipal, frequently. Direct buses are also available from Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.

By Train

The closest railway stations are at Udupi (8 km from TAPMI Manipal) and Mangalore (65 km from Mangalore Central). These railway stations lie on the Konkan route connecting the north and the south along the west coast. Pre-paid taxis and autorickshaws are available from the railway station.

Places to visit in and around Manipal

Besides its academic legacy, Manipal offers a panoramic delight to the tourists with a blend of hills (Western Ghats range of India) and sea (Arabian sea). It is a part of Udupi (also spelled Udipi) city in the southwest Indian State of Karnataka. Udupi is notable for the Krishna Temple and lends its name to the popular Udupi cuisine; it is 6 km away from Manipal. Udupi is in close proximity of several tourist destinations such as Mookambika temple, Dharmasthala, and Kukke Subramanya.

Udupi Sri Krishna Matha is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna located in the town of Udupi in Karnataka, India. Other tourist attractions in Manipal/Udupi include Malpe beach, St. Mary’s Island, Jog Falls, Turtle Bay, and Kaup beach, and other tourist cities nearby Manipal/Udupi include Goa, Karkala, Agumbe, Kudremukh, Murdeshwar, Gokarna, Mangalore and Coorg.

3. How do I register for the conference?

You can register via the registration page in the conference website. Please confirm your registration by sending the screenshot of the payment/transaction number to icetoa.tapmi@manipal.edu

4. What is included in the cost of my registration?

The registration fee for presenting authors includes conference kit, breakfast, refreshments, and lunch for all days and dinner for the inaugural day. The registration fee for non-presenting participants includes breakfast, refreshments, and lunch for all three days.

5. I am presenting two papers. Do I have to register twice and pay twice?

No. An author can present a maximum of 2 papers with one registration as a presenting author.

6. I have full-time employment and I am also currently pursuing a PhD. Can I register as a student?

No. You have to register as an industry practitioner.

7. I am pursuing my under graduation/post-graduation. Can I register for this conference?

Yes.

8. Do I have to necessarily present a paper at the conference to attend?

No. You may register and attend as a non-presenting participant.

9. Can I present through the online mode?

This conference is planned as an offline conference. All the keynote speakers, track chairs, academicians, and delegates will be physically present at the conference. Hence, to maximize your exposure and to build your network, we encourage participants to attend the conference offline at TAPMI, Manipal, India. However, if you are not in a position to visit TAPMI, but are interested in presenting your work, please write to icetoa.tapmi@manipal.edu. We may consider select participants for presenting in the online mode.

10. My paper has been accepted for presentation. My co-author and I will be attending the conference. Do we both have to register or only one of us can register?

Registration is mandatory to attend the conference. For all accepted papers, at least one author should register as a presenting author. If the presenting author is accompanied by their co-authors, all co-authors should register under the category of non-presenting participant to attend the conference.

11. Should I separately register for the pre-conference workshop on 17th March 2023?

Yes, you have to separately register for attending the pre-conference workshop.

12. Does the registration fee include accommodation?

No.

13. How do I book accommodation for the conference?

Limited accommodation facility is available on first-come, first-serve basis in TAPMI guest house. Moreover, there are many hotels within 5 km radius of TAPMI campus that offer accommodation at reasonable rates.

14. How do I get the invoice of registration?

The invoice can be collected at the conference.

15. Will I receive any certificate?

All registered participants will receive the certificate for presenting/attending the conference. The certificates will be distributed on the last day of the conference.

16. I have registered and my co-author did not register. Will my co-author get the certificate?

Only registered authors will receive the certificate.

17. When will the final schedule be ready?

Final schedule will be uploaded in the website a week before the conference.

18. Can I request for changes in the presentation schedule?

We cannot guarantee to accommodate your request. However, we will do our best to accommodate your request if you inform us well in advance.

19. What should be the submission format?

Please refer to the Abstract submission page in the conference website.

20. What about the dress code for the conference?

Formal attire.

21. Should we bring laptops?

Computer, projector/screen and AV Systems will be available in the conference rooms. You are expected to bring your presentation on a USB Flash Drive.

22. Will video recordings of the presentation be made available in the conference website?

No.

23. How much time will I have to present?

We allow approximately 15-20 minutes for each presentation (including Q&A).

24. Is there any publication opportunity?

Selected full paper submissions may be considered for publication in a special issue of Operations Management Education Review Journal (Scopus Indexed) after the peer review process as per the journal’s guidelines and scope.

25. Can I present published work in this conference?

Papers submitted must not have been published or accepted for publication elsewhere.

26. Can I submit the same paper to other journals or conferences?

Yes. Copyrights of the papers accepted will remain with the authors.

27. Can I present the same paper in the Doctoral Colloquium and the conference?

Yes.
